When it comes to getting drunk cheaply I like to believe that I am a connoisseur of sorts. There are genuinely few things in life that I find more enjoyable, the lucid memories the next day, the alcohol steadily, unassumingly still pumping through my body and my wallet still in relatively good health. I love it.
One of my favourite pubs in Londonto drink in for this obvious cheap reason is The Red Lion, near Oxford Circus. What makes it brilliant is that it’s in the centre of London where everything is going on, surrounded by a metropolis of bars and restaurants, you are amongst the elite and yet a pint will cost you little over £2. Even ooop north this is pretty much unheard of so in London, it’s like a big alcoholic wet dream.
The place has a great atmosphere and attracts a mix of the young and trendy and yuppy office types from the area. The staff are friendly and quick to serve you – another plus.
